Joel and Quentella Ambrose are currently serving at Mission 1:17 as the House Parents at our Semi-Independent Living home for young men aging out of the Foster Care system. Joel is the President of HandyPro International, LLC., a franchise company which specializes in providing home modifications and professional handyman services for those living with disabilities and people looking to age in place safely. Joel has many skills and talents that he shares with the youth in SIL in order to help them become successful and independent.
Quentella Ambrose currently serves on the Mission 1:17 Board of Directors. Quentella has 25 plus years of professional experience which includes owning and operating a license Group Day Care Home. Additionally, she has taught both in the private and public school system. As an educator, Mrs. Ambrose is constantly seeking creative ways to foster a dynamic learning environment and to promote high standards of excellence for continuous learning improvement. Quentella is a graduate of Spring Arbor University where she earned a Master of Arts degree in Family Life Education and is currently utilizing those skills as resident adviser of the homes.
Joel and Quentella have been married for 18 years and have recently adopted one of the boys aging out of foster care. They both attend Brightmoor Christian Church where they also serve in various departments. Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose both are graduates of the Word of Faith Bible Training Center and are licensed Ministers of the gospel.
